Website Changes
Last update: July 10, 2026 11:25am
Wishlists now attach to profiles. See below.
We've added some features to our website to make it easier for you to find the games you want, as well as a notification system for restocked items!
Front Page Listings
Previously, items on the front page would only appear if it was the first time we had that particular version of an item, and previously exisiting but now restocked items would not be shown. This section will now show all restocked items as well.
- The updates can still only happen when the website has been notified items have been added. While we will ocassionally push select items during the day, in general new inventory is pushed to the website early each morning.
- Just because inventory has been updated doesn't mean it will immediately appear on the front page. Once every six hours, the website will check for new inventory and then add it to the front page.
Stock Notifications
At long last, you can be notified when specific items are back in stock! When an item is out of stock, on both the item page and the section page ("Playstation 3 Games," for example) there will be a Notify Me When Avaliable button. From there, you can enter your email address to receive a notification when the item is back in stock!
- You can only request an email for an item that we have at some time had in stock. For example, we've never had a CiB copy of Super Mario Bros 3 [Left Bros] for the NES. If the listing has never existed, you can't request a notification for it. This is a known limitation, and will not be changing.
- This is done on a per condition basis. For example, if you are looking for a copy of Futurama on the Playstation 2, and you only enter your email in for the CiB version of the game, you will NOT receive an email when a No Manual version comes back in stock.
- Any notification emails are NOT a reservation to buy the item. This is purely a notification of inventory alert, and the email will be sent to everybody who requested to be notified when it comes back in stock, regardless of how many items there actually are. Completing your order is still on a first come, first serve basis.
- The price listed for an item is as of when we last had it in stock, and it may change when it is restocked. The price is NOT locked in when you request a notification.
Wishlists
Track the items you have your eye on, but aren't quite yet ready to pull the trigger! You can add items you're interested in to your wishlist. On the Search and section pages, you can click the heart icon in the top right of the item, or on the actual item page, you can click Add to Wishlist. (We know the heart icon currently does not show on the items on the home page specifically.)
- To view your wishlist, click on the heart icon in the top right (desktop) or top left (mobile) of your screen, in the blue header bar.
-
At the moment, wishlists are unique to the device the list was added on. We're working on making them attached to your website account, and hope to have this done in the next few days.Wishlists can now be attached to your account if you log in prior to adding any items to it. While logged in, your wishlist will follow you from device to device, and can also be viewed from inside your profile page. - Much like the notification emails, an item in your wishlist is NOT reserved to buy. It is merely a list of items you wish to watch. Adding an item to your wishlist does NOT enable notification emails.
Low Stock Counts
On individual item pages, an alert will appear below the Add to Cart button if we're down to the final handful of that item. It is purely informational.
Console Pages' Item Listings
Previously, items that were out of stock were hidden from view. We've enabled all listings on our section pages, so that out of stock items will also appear so you can add them to your wishlist and/or enable notification emails.
- This may take a few days for the sorting to finish going through each console, but once this process is completed, the items on any given listing page will be alphabetical with all in-stock items shown first, and after that all out of stock items, also alphabetical.
We hope these changes make your Video Game Trader browsing experience easier! We've done a decent amount of testing on all of the features, but can't promise that everything is working perfectly - we are aware of a few cosmetic issues we still need to hammer out, but the actual features themselves should be working. If you find anything that looks out of place or are having any troubles with one of the new features, please don't hesitate to contact us!
